My Little Spa gift set, 2016

Task & situation

Create branding and packaging for a SPA cosmetics set which represents the resort of Druskininkai and is sold at various SPA centres in the city. The set should attract attention, feel premium yet not cost a fortune.

Lithuanian resorts are famous for their SPA centres and comfortable accommodation. However, they have no branded souvenirs that would not only be local vibe-themed but also designed with a SPA spirit in mind. My Little Spa was created to fill this niche.

This set is the first of the series, and it’s dedicated to Druskininkai – a city known for its pine trees, healing mud and mineral water. The set includes a scented candle, mud based soap, natural pine scented hand cream and bath salt.

Solutions

BRAND. A new brand name My Little Spa adds an emotional appeal to an otherwise quite plain selection of souvenirs. The final design consists of the branded element connecting with the resort element. The element of Druskininkai is interchangeable, so other resort-themed sets (Palanga, Birštonas) are planned for the future.

FORM. A box format was chosen to house the set, convenient for both displaying it at the SPA’s lobby and putting it in your suitcase. The open box allows the contents to be seen and examined by the customer. It keeps the enduring charm even after the original contents have been used.

COLOUR. For the Druskininkai set, green was chosen to represent pine trees – a key feature of the resort and the souvenirs. Variations of colour were adjusted to carry the light and clean message of SPA.

COVER AND GRAPHICS. The resort’s nature, history and architecture all served as inspirations for cover ornaments. The cover itself is a relatively inexpensive solution that raises the product’s perceived value and its premium feel.
